Releasing your print at the printer

What to do when your document waits until you are at the printer.

Overview

Some printers print as soon as you confirm. Others keep your document waiting until you are standing at the printer, so nobody else sees your pages. Your space chooses this for each printer.

If it prints straight away

Nothing more to do. Confirm on the print page and collect your pages.

If it waits for you

1. Send your document as usual and confirm.
2. Your document appears under Waiting for you on the print page.
3. At the printer, tap Print now. It prints straight away, and anyone nearby can see the pages, so be there first.

You can do this from a phone or a computer.

If you need to scan the printer's code

Some printers have a sticker with a QR code.

1. Send your document as usual.
2. At the printer, scan the sticker with your phone. A computer can't scan it, so you need your phone for this.
3. Tap Print now.

Scanning unlocks Print now at that printer, for you, for 15 minutes. Anything else you send in that time prints without scanning again.

Changed your mind?

Until a document has gone to the printer, you can delete it: select Delete next to it in Waiting for you, then confirm. It won't be printed, and you aren't charged. Once you've tapped Print now and it has gone to the printer, it can't be deleted.

All your waiting documents are listed together, the newest first after you send one, so you can print or delete each one.

What if I don't release it?

A document that waits too long is deleted, and you are never charged for it. Send it again when you're ready. Emailed documents are kept for 24 hours.

You pay when it has printed

You are charged only after the printer finishes, for the pages it printed. See What you're charged and when.
