Scanning a document at the printer

Scan pages on the printer's glass and get them as one PDF by email or download.

Overview

You can scan paper at a printer that has a scanner and get it as one PDF, by email to the address on your account or as a download. You need your phone, because scanning starts from the code on the printer.

Scan a document

  1. At the printer, scan the sticker on it with your phone, and sign in if asked.
  2. Tap Scan a document.
  3. Choose Black & white or Colour, and Standard or High quality. Standard makes a smaller file, which is fine for most documents.
  4. Lift the lid and put the first page face down on the glass. Close the lid.
  5. Tap Scan page. Keep the lid closed until the page appears on your phone.
  6. For each next page, change the paper and tap Scan the next page. If a page came out wrong, tap Remove last page and scan it again.
  7. Type a file name if you want one, keep Email it to me ticked, and tap Save the PDF.

The next screen says whether it was emailed. You can also tap Download the PDF.

Note

The Scan a document button only appears after you scan the printer's sticker. Scanning only works when you're at the printer, so nobody can scan what someone else left on the glass.

What it costs

The price per page is shown before you scan. You pay for the pages in your PDF when you tap Save the PDF, and it's added to your next Nexudus invoice. Printing credit isn't used for scans.

You don't pay for:

  • a scan you cancel (Cancel, then confirm);
  • a scan you don't save. It's deleted after 30 minutes.

If scanning is free at your space, the screen says so.

How long your PDF is kept

Your PDF stays on the print service for 24 hours, so you can download it again or email it to yourself again from the same screen. Then it's deleted.

Troubleshooting

Problem Why What to do
No Scan a document button This printer can't scan, scanning is off at your space, or you didn't scan the sticker Scan the sticker on the printer again. If there's still no button, ask the front desk.
"Scanning only works when you're at the printer" The sticker wasn't scanned in the last 15 minutes Scan the sticker again.
"Someone is scanning at this printer right now" Another person is using the scanner Wait a moment and tap Scan page again.
The page is blank The page was face up, or the lid was opened during the scan Tap Remove last page, put the page face down and scan it again.
No email arrived Email isn't set up at your space, or the file is too large to email Tap Download the PDF instead. Also check your spam folder.
